Light And Sound Overview Guide

Light and sound or Mind Machines have been around for years.  I have used my device for over twenty years and have researched the topic widely, and I have gained even more insight from my therapeutic perspective.  For the most part, there has not been any practical instruction, other than just “plug in and play” and the results can be pretty varied, depending on expectations.  In my experience, people will buy these items without fully realising their full potential.

Many people try to explain what it is like to wear one of these devices and to be honest, everyone has a unique perception; this is normal.

What Is Happening When I Use A Mind Machine?

From the start, your brain begins to sync to whatever program you choose on your device.  It is a natural and well documented process.  The experience can range and is as unique as you are.  How you live your life has a different imprint on your neurology, therefore, how your mind responds will be unique to you.  As you learn to sync with each session, your experience may change.  Various events will occur when using AVE:

  • Your brain will start to copy the light and sound frequencies
  • Your body will begin to relax
  • Your brain will begin to produce more serotonin and norepinephrine
  • You will experience an increase in disassociation effects
  • You will have more of a selective focus
  • You will have a diminished amount of mind chatter

The light and sound machine stimulates the same processes as when your eyes are open…now, by using the mind machine, you are open to experience what is happening behind the scenes, in a way which you can now receive feedback.

It is exciting, as you get the chance to really have insight into the mechanics of what is going on in your own head, as it happens and see how your mind responds to stimulation, and perceptions, which vary from moment to moment.

I hope to give you some new insights, taken from my own experiences and learnings, in the hope that you can expand your own personal understanding of the way we dance through life and perhaps let you discover some of the answers to your own personal story, from the inside out.

Getting Started

The way I wish to start teaching, is in the same way as my personal style of rediscovery.  For this to work, you must first consider this exercise; you have just beamed into your body and are now experiencing life for the first time.  You are now in possession of a body suited to the environment it has been placed, it is a tool, which can be improved or modified to suit.  Your default unconscious programing will automatically engage if you are distracted.  In this guide we will explore…

Catching The Automatic Mind

Some people refer to the “chattering monkey”, your mind is created to replay thoughts and ideas, which are tied to their emotional responses, cleverly designed to aid your survival and homeostasis.  Stress and habitual learning transform you and help shape how your body responds to your world, in a biological dance to aid survivability.

How certain types of breathing can influence your mood, relaxation, and energy, and what settings you can use to complement meditation and focus.

Relaxation And Body Awareness

Being able to detach and become aware of your natural body state, the tension you hold in your muscles, and how to learn to relax when in different mind states, and also to become aware of the signals your body gives before movement.

With the introduction of breathing exercises and greater awareness, progress can be made in an individual to learn to become aware of the process behind unwanted behaviours; set up coping mechanisms to detach your mental attachment and bring your body back to a position  of passive alertness.
