What Is The Procyon Mind Machine?

This is the second of three Mind Machines developed and produced by MindPlace.  It uses light and sound via the supplied headphones and glasses, in conjunction with the user friendly controls on the main unit, to stimulate or sedate your brain’s responses, which help to achieve various states associated with everything from deep relaxation to extreme alertness.

MindPlace Procyon light glasses have a unique way of shifting between different colours by blending the three primary LEDs, which produce more vivid and dynamic colour changes than in previous models.  This Mind Machine has improved digital sound sessions and clearer visuals, as opposed to earlier models.  The result is to help with exploring your mind rich new ways.

The improved quality allows greater disassociation from extraneous thoughts, distractions, and stresses, which are roaming in our mind daily.

Another noticeable plus, in my view; is the ability to tailor new sessions via the Windows software and how helpful the Mindplace staff are to help and advise with all your queries.

How Does The Procyon Mind Machine Work?

This is an entrainment machine; designed to guide the users brain, to help achieve mental states through a method called FFR (Frequency Follows Response).  As you get familiar with the sessions (which you have 50 to choose from) your brain will become more in sync with the light and sound frequencies, which will then guide you toward your chosen state.  The effect of this varies, depending on the individual and how much time you spend developing your ability to become entrained; as with any skill, you will get better with practice.

That said, each of the sessions are very well described to give you an understanding of when and where you can use each session to optimise your experience. MindPlace also has an excellent forum which I would recommend, where you can have all your technical and obscure queries answered.

The Procyon Mind Machine is the second of the 3 mind machines produced by MindPlace ; it has a robust design and 50 inbuilt sessions. The improvements from the earlier Proteus is that this one has a new 3 coloured LED set up, which improve the users experience.  Also The Procyon goggles are now upgradable to the new Ganzfeld display goggles  (for more information please see below this review).
